AboutGuillermo Ortega is a graduate of BSc. EE with a major in Telecoms and IT (Iteso 1991-1995). He has taken academic programs such as Quality and Software Engineering at the European Software Institute at Tec de Monterrey and also an Innovation and Technology Management program at IPADE Business School. He has experience working in telecommunication areas with Scotiabank and the Income and Revenue Service in Mexico (SAT). Guillermo has also led the engineering team at the Center for Vehicle Electronics Technology an engineering laboratory oriented to automotive and aerospace industry projects. Guillermo has participated in the creation of 5 companies related to the IT sector, the first of them in 1998; among these companies the first formal integrative IT Consortium in Mexico, Aportia, in 2003. In the academic area, he has taught at Monterrey Tech Institute, Guadalajara campus, as well as in Iteso Tech Institute.

Guillermo, President of the Board of Aportia from 2006 to 2008, has been an active member of the Jalisco state IT ecosystem since 2003, significantly improving the level of business collaboration among IT companies in Mexico and promoting the business process capabilities in the region. He has participated as technology advisor and consultant for several organizations including investment firms, furthermore as leader of the processes improvement project in DW Software, who has provided him with thorough knowledge and experience in CMMI® (Capability Maturity Model Integration) and Agile among other quality models and methodologies.

Nowadays, Guillermo is the COO at iTexico and Advisory Board Member at DW Software. iTexico is a Digital Services company taking advantage and promoting the benefits of proximity to Mexico for IT and software development services. In 2014 and 2017 iTexico has been awarded by the President of Mexico for its growth, innovation, and productivity.
